More Containerships will dock at Vizhinjam Port: Kerala Minister of Ports V N Vasavan

Thiruvananthapuram – The Kerala Minister of Ports V N Vasavan recently said that in the coming days many more container ships are set to dock at Vizhinjam port.

Speaking at a review of the operations during a visit to the Vizhinjam transshipment port, Vasavan said MSC Deila, the mothership that has docked now, is bigger than the first mothership, San Fernando, that arrived at the port.

“The containers from the ship will be picked up by small ships and will be taken to Colombo .” The ship brings around 1,200 containers.
