Association (GA&CEA) joined hands on September 15, 2023, to celebrate Engineers Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The event took place at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Convention Centre, Gandhidham.

Shri Nandeesh Shukla, IRTS, Dy. Chairman inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp, in the presence of Shri J.K. Rathod, CPES, Chief Vigilance Officer; Shri V. Raveendra Reddy, Chief Engineer; Shri C. Harichandran, Secretary; Capt. Pradeep Mohanty, Dy. Conservator; Shri G.R.V. Prasada Rao, Traffic Manager; Shri Susil Chandra Nahak, Chief Mechanical Engineer; Shri B. Bhagyanath, FA & CAO; Shri Tejabhai Kangad, President – Deendayal Port Contractor Association; Shri Lalit Vidhani, President of Gandhidham Architects & Civil Engineers Association; Shri Pratik Joshi, Secretary-GACEA and other distinguished guests.

The program was narrated by Smt. Sangeeta Khilwani, Asstt. CE Department & Ms. Honey Khilwani.

The funnction included Falicitation of Retired Principal and HoDs of Tolani Polytechnic College, Adipur who contributed their lives for preparation of many engineersand architects. 

A comedy skit was performed by the DPA employees which made the audience laugh a lot. Besides "Chitrahar Housie" also attracted lot of people entertained.

A special felicitation of Shri Nandeesh Shukla, IRTS, Dy. Chairman was also done by the Civil Engineering Department. Apart from this, Gandhidham Architects and Civil Engineers Association also felicitated Dy. Chairman-DPA and Chief Engineer-DPA as a gesture of esteem and admiration.

The celebration was a resounding success, offering a delightful mix of fun, excitement, games and Musical Housie, providing a showcase for the skill, expertise, and dedication of engineers who are instrumental in driving the growth of port of Kandla and the surrounding region. The evening culminated with a sumptuous dinner that brought together professionals in the fields of Engineering and Architecture.

Engineers Day, a tribute to the visionary engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the outstanding contributions of engineers in the progress and development of our nation. This occasion served as a platform to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable role engineers play in shaping our infrastructure.

The Engineers of DPA, under the Dynamic leadership & Guidance of Shri Raveendra Reddy, Chief Engineer, have been the driving force behind numerous groundbreaking achievements of Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla. Noteworthy projects include the Development of Oil Jetties, Cargo Berths, strategically positioned Road over Bridges (RoBs), and the seamless integration of Road & Rail networks.

One of the most recent triumphs for Deendayal Port Authority is the signing of a concession agreement with D.P. World for the establishment of a Mega CONTAINER TERMINAL  at Tuna Tekra, under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Mode. This monumental agreement is poised to revolutionize port operations, substantially augmenting capacity and efficiency.

Gandhidham Architects & Civil Engineers Association (GACEA), a professional organization of architects and civil engineers in Gandhidham, Gujarat is dedicated to promoting the development of the engineering profession and providing opportunities for professional development and networking. Engineers of Gandhidham & its surroundings play a vital role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that rely on every day, and they are also at the forefront of developing new technologies and solutions to the challenges we face.

The celebration of Engineer's Day is an opportunity to recognize and honour the contributions of Engineers to Society.
