GANDHIDHAM: In order to keep port in number one position under leadership of Shri Sanjay Mehta, Chairman and Shri Nandeesh Shukla, Deputy Chairman, Deendayal Port has handled 29 vessels within a span of 24 hours. Out of these 29 vessels, 21 vessels were of more than 500 feet, one vessel had more than 13 meter draft and 13 vessels were handled during night time.
Handling of such large number of vessels was done under supervision and guidance of Deputy Conservator, Capt. T. Srinivas and Harbour Master Capt. S.S. Jadhav. Deendayal Port Marine Department, Pilots, Tugs and Flotilla staff worked beyond normal call of duty with limited manpower for such a huge task. Teamwork of Marine department and smooth operation of shipping movement was applauded and appreciated by the entire Shipping fraternity.
Shri S.K. Mehta, Chairman, congratulated, Port Users, Officers, Employees and Unions for their cooperation. He further added that it is envisaged that DPT will be able to achieve the targets set for the fiscal by the Shipping Ministry.
