SCI to actively participate in MIS 2021

MUMBAI: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is organizing the 2nd Edition of the Maritime India Summit 2021 (MIS 2021), virtually from 2nd - 4th March, 2021, jointly in association with FICCI as industrial partner and EY as knowledge partner.

The summit, with 24 partner countries, will showcase more than 400 projects and is expected to have participation of delegates across the globe. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India - Shri. Narendra Modi will inaugurate the MIS summit on 2nd March, 2021.

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. alongwith NMPT and SDCL have been entrusted with conducting the Breakout Session 3, with the topic - "Opportunities in Maritime Financing and Insurance". The session will be chaired by Mrs. H.K. Joshi, C&MD - SCI. The breakout session is scheduled on 3rd March, 2021, 1100 Hrs to 1230 Hrs IST.

The session aims to highlight the high investment potential of the Indian Maritime Sector, in line with the Govt. of India's Maritime Vision 2030. The session will cover the key trends and developments in Maritime Banking & Financial Services, Financing of ports, port terminal & port-based industries, Financing of coastal, inland waterways & allied infrastructure as well as the Challenges & Solution related to Ship Financing & Financing the revival of Indian shipbuilding sector. A panel discussion by various Industry stalwarts on how India may be moulded as a reinsurance hub will follow.
