MUMBAI: The National Logistics Policy which forms part of the Honourable PM’s Gati Shakti National Master Plan is nothing short of a revolution in the Logistics industry, said AMTOI President Xerrxes Master.

“It’s an extremely bold initiative by the Government which will ensure a substantial reduction of logistics costs  in India and 

improve our logistics performance index ranking among the top 25 countries by 2030. In addition it creates an efficient logistics ecosystem to ensure a resilient supply chain.”

“The policy will be implemented through a Comprehensive Logistics Action Plan (CLAP) via Integrated Digital Logistics Systems, Standardisation of Physical assets & benchmarking service quality standards, Logistics Human Resources Development and Capacity Building, State Engagement, Export-Import Logistics, Service Improvement Framework, Sectoral Plan for Efficient Logistics and Facilitation of Development of Logistics Parks. This well laid out strategy will ensure the desired results within the stipulated period of time.

In addition, the NLP provides for the very first time guidelines on the Warehousing Standards resulting in reduction of costs, improving efficiency and  ensuring  global competitiveness. The warehousing industry will play a huge role in ensuring the success of the National Logistics Policy.

For NLP to be successful it is essential that all the stake holders are unified under a common digital platform . The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) will ensure India’s sustainability and self-reliance wherein all stakeholders will be on a common information network ensuring exchange of data on a real time basis in a secured and safe manner.

Logistics is the growth engine of India in the next decade and the National Logistics Policy will ensure success of the same,” he added.
