NAVI MUMBAI: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) recently hosted H.E. Mr. Jalil Eslami, Deputy of Port and Economic Affairs of PMO, the Islamic Republic of Iran and all the Delegates and Senior Official of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Jawaharlal Nehru Port. JNPA Chiarman Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, accorded them a Traditional welcome.
H.E. Mr. Jalil Eslami and all the Delegates were taken through a presentation during which JNPA Chairman highlighted various developmental Projects at JNPA.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority at Navi Mumbai is one of the Premier Container handling ports in India. Commissioned on 26th May 1989, in less than three decades of its operations, JNPA has transformed from a bulk-cargo terminal to become the Premier Container Port in the Country.
JNPA operates four Container Terminals: the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT), the Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd. (GTIPL), Nhava Sheva International Gateway Terminal (NSIGT) and the newly commissioned Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (BMCTPL). The Port also has a Shallow Water Berth for general cargo and another Liquid Cargo Terminal which is managed by BPCL-IOCL consortium and newly constructed coastal berth.
Recently Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority signed a concession agreement with JM Baxi Ports and Logistics Ltd. - CMA Terminals on July 29, 2022 for JNPCT. Thus JNPA has now become India’s first 100% Landlord, Major Port. The new name of the JNCPT will be NHAVA SHEVA FREEPORT TERMINAL PRIVATE LIMITED.
